About the Pageant
Frequently Asked Questions
I've never been in a pageant before, can I still compete?
Absolutely! There is no experience required or necessary. A good place for first timers to start is the 21 Days to Pageant Ready program and we also offer a Pageant Workshop Series to help prepare.
Are there height and weight requirements?
The North Dakota International Pageants has no height or weight guidelines. We know that exceptional women and teens come in all shapes and sizes. The importance of a healthy lifestyle will be showcased in the fitness wear portion of the competition.
Do I need a talent to compete in the state pageant?
There is no talent portion in the North Dakota International Pageant system. Please refer to the competition section to review the areas of competition.
What is a platform?
Each delegate is required to have a platform. This can be a cause, community service, or charity of your choice to represent throughout the year. Our titleholders are distinctive because they are civic minded, passionate, and involved in their communities. There are no right or wrong platforms. A platform can be a personal project, community service, support for a local charity or organization, or it can involve mission work or other church related activities. Each delegate is strongly encouraged to travel across North Dakota as a champion for their platform.

What kinds of questions will the judges ask me?
The judges job is to get to know you and your individual personality. They will be asking you questions that come from your application and platform page. The judges will be trying to learn more about you and your platform. No religious or political questions are allowed unless it directly correlates with your platform.
Can I obtain sponsors to help fundraise?
Absolutely! Sponsors are allowed and encouraged, but not required.
Can I have a friend enter the pageant with me?
Yes, absolutely! This is a great idea! Sign up a friend for a $20 giftcard to any of our sponsors of your choice!
Can my family or friends take photos or videotape the pageant?
Cameras and recording will not be permitted during competition for the safety of our contestants. Photos and DVDs approved by our official sponsors will be available for purchase.
What type of photo should I use for my official state pageant photo in the program book?
Your program book photo should be a head and shoulders portrait photo in 300dpi. This will be used in the state pageant program book. If you are looking for an incredible photographer, we suggest booking an appointment with the official pageant photographer, MaBelle Photography!
